For Individuals, Couples and Families

Christine Maslin-Cole, PhD

As a Licensed Psychologist, Dr. Maslin-Cole offers individual and family therapy that is tailored to the needs of each client.  Drawing on more than 25 years of clinical experience, she has helped adults and teens with anxiety, panic, phobias, depression, bipolar disorder, relationship issues, and life stressors and transitions (like job loss and job pressures, academic challenges, separation and divorce, remarriage, and step-parenting).  She has helped numerous families resolve differences, improve communication, and work toward shared goals.

Dr. Maslin-Cole also provides specialized treatment to help individuals who have experienced trauma or traumatic events in the past and who are still bothered by emotionally-troubling memories.  As a Certified Therapist in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), she offers an effective treatment approach to overcome the negative effects of traumatic experiences and troubling thoughts and memories.  EMDR is an effective treatment for the negative impact that traumatic experiences can have on our life.  It is also effective for treating panic disorders, phobias and other anxiety disorders.  Most clients who participate in EMDR treatment arrive at a place where they are happier and are no longer bothered by traumatic memories or experiences of worry or anxiety.

Dr. Maslin-Cole also offers psychological testing for children, teens and young adults to determine if a learning disorder is present (such as, ADHD, a reading disorder/dyslexia, Asperger’s Disorder, nonverbal learning disorders, or memory disorder), or to clarify whether depression, anxiety or other psychological disorder is present.  She would be happy to discuss your concerns to determine if psychological testing would be helpful for you or your child.
